Appointments

How to make an appointment?

When you book an appointment, a receptionist will ask you some questions regarding the reason for your appointment. This is to ensure that you are seen by the most appropriate member of our team to avoid unnecessary delays.

They can also decide whether a longer appointment would be more appropriate for you. A normal appointment with a GP is 10 minutes and this is to discuss 1 issue – this ensures that the doctor has sufficient time to obtain a history of the issue, make a diagnosis and recommend treatment or refer you to the appropriate secondary care team for further investigation.

If you need to see a GP for a non-urgent reason, you may book an appointment up to two weeks in advance.  You may opt to be seen by any one of the GPs in the team.   If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform the Practice immediately, otherwise you will waste an appointment that someone else could benefit from.

Appointments are allocated by time, but this does not always mean that you will be seen at that time, since it is not possible to predict a patient’s medical needs.

How to book an appointment

You can make an appointment via the following ways:

  • By visiting Appointments. Your request will be assessed and assigned to the best person to help you with your concern.
  • Booking an appointment via Patient Access. You will need to be registered for our online services. Please complete our Register for Online Services form to use this option.
  • By calling the practice on 0118 902 8300.
  • Please continue to wear a face mask or suitable face covering when attending any face to face appointment, where you have symptoms of COVID or flu.

Please note, the Broad Street Mall (the Shopping Centre) is currently open Monday-Saturday 08:00-18:00 and Sunday 11:00-17:00 so if you are visiting us outside of these times you will need to enter the mall via the main entrance (doors located next between Taco Bell and Trespass). Please allow extra time when planning to attend appointments due to this.

Cancelling An Appointment

If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know using our Cancel An Appointment Triage as soon as possible. This may enable someone else to be seen.
