Prescriptions

How do I order my prescription?

We require 3 working days to process your repeat prescription. Repeat prescriptions of regular medication must be asked for, either in writing or online before 12:00, and may be collected after 16:00 on the third working weekday following the request.

We will post prescriptions to you only if supplied with an SAE. The tear-off slip attached to computer-prepared prescriptions may be used for re-ordering.

You can arrange for a pharmacy to collect your prescription and some pharmacies will deliver to housebound patients.

Your doctor will wish to review your treatment periodically. They will ask you to attend surgery when this is necessary.

We cannot accept requests over the telephone – no matter what the circumstances. This is for your own safety and to avoid significant errors.

Electronic Prescription Service

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service that allows us to send your prescription(s) directly to your chosen pharmacy. This paper-free prescription service means that you do not have to come into the surgery to collect your prescription.

We encourage all patients to register for this free service, which can be arranged directly with the pharmacy when collecting your medication. Alternatively, you can complete our Electronic Prescription Service Registration form.

Although we don’t have a pharmacy on-site, our reception staff will be happy to direct you to the most convenient pharmacy for you.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
